I was doing some searching of our favorite Heroes, and it just seemed like too much of a coincidence that some of the Hero's abilities are completely connected to every day life.

EXAMPLES:

Nathan - Former Pilot in the Navy
Ability: Flight

Peter - House Nurse
Ability: Empath

Sylar - Clock Maker/Fixer
Ability: Intuitive Aptitude

Matt - Cop trying to make a name for himself
Ability: Telepathy

DL - Convict who was held back by physical barricades.
Ability: Phasing

Niki/Jessica - Single Mom who needs to protect her child from baddies!
Ability: Enhanced Strength

Micah - Whiz kid
Ability: Technopathy

Charlie - Waitress (needs to remember orders and such)
Ability: Enhanced Memory

Linderman - Former Medic in military
Ability: Healing

Claire - Cheerleader
Ability: Regeneration (come on, she may get dropped on her head or neck!)

Candice - Disturbed girl who wants a new identity
Ability: Illusion

Eden - Child whom no one listened too
Ability: Persuasion

Issac - Painter
Ability: Paints the future

Hiro - Office worker who wishes he could change things
Ability: Space-Time Manipulation

My theory is that they will have an ability but it will not completely manifest until there is a link. Then when it seems to manifest it always has some sort of connection....

hey, don't look at me for some crazy ideas, i just think there is something weird about the abilities and the times that they manifest. I strongly think the time of the manifestation is around the time of need and its not part of growth.

- People stop growing in their late teens, some of these manifestations happened within their twenties and thirties.

So what do you think?

(Again, I'm not saying its correct, so don't flame at me, its a theory... a simple idea from evidence.)

Tim Kring has said from the beginning that he writes the characters and then writes the power to match them. So this is no coincidence and is absolutely true.

(Nikki, being at the time a single mom, was originally envisioned to have the ability to be in two places at once, a very useful ability for a mother with no one else to help her out!)

Yes, AF did steal your thunder, but still, it was good that you noticed. After all, I wonder how many others have been on this site, and not even thought about this, even though we've discussed it at length!

Good to know that your brain muscle isn't quite as atrophied as mine was when I first started really posting and getting into the conversations!

It's only slightly better now.. I think I only take 2-3 advil now, compared to the 1/2 bottle I needed there at the beginning! Very Happy

West... flight in some way or form... now imagine his character type, like daddy?

okay, but his mother was suffering from cancer... maybe that would have triggered something that made him heal people

Right! He wanted to heal her, that was obvious from the GN. He did end up healing her, and then his parents were totally terrorized by the result... So again, real life had something to do with his power. Obviously, him becoming a medic was a result of his ability to heal... Similar to Peter being an empath and becoming a nurse.

but i think his job came first, then his ability... but i may be wrong, thats assuming his power fully manifested after the episode SMA. cause thats when he got his job
