Oh! Waffles! Yahoo!!

Construction is complete on the Taiyaki Waffle Exchange, and some of you have noticed that you are now accruing "waffles." You get 1 waffle for each new topic you start on the board, and .25 waffles for every topic you respond to. (There's also a small crumb bonus for each character in your post.)

So what good are these waffles? How are they different from reputation? Good questions! Waffles can be exchanged in the Waffle Shops for color, title, and rank priviledges. You accrue waffles more quickly than reputation. The best way to think of it is waffles are "virtual money" and reputation is a rating system that shows how long you've been with us and what other board members think about you.

There's a "Waffles Shop" link up in the top header on the right. You need 10 waffles to turn signature ability on, and each of you should have received 10 waffles today to spend on getting a sig. Those who join after today will need to earn 10 waffles to be able to display a signature.

I like this alot, and the waffle name is cute.

I have been on boards where we would have all pitched in to change the title of some people.. hehehhe..

Just a thought: Since running this website costs money, you could also allow us to buy waffles as well (but everyone still get's waffles the same way you've layed out so people who do not want to pay don't have to in order to get cool stuff).

This is a great suggestion, and I will look into this. I'm also going to be running contests and promotions for people to win waffles soon. Smile

I used my waffles to buy a signature, what do you guys think? I like the fact that if we, for example, buy a custom title, we don't have to pay everytime we want to change it. I change my mind way too often for that, lol.

LOL sounds like a great idea to get everyone into friendly competition! Nothing motivates people better then waffles. Great idea name for a rep system.
