I think it would be a great Idea to have some sort of FAQ set up for Heroes.. so some of us don't keep repeating over and over certain questions..

I know its hard for a newbie to come on a forum, if they have just started watching a show and the majority of the people on the forum is a good few months/episodes or years ahead.

Id like to suggest a Newbie corner, and a simple FAQ of Heroes. so people can read before posting a question that is not current with the show that is being seen.

i think that maybe there should be a bulletin of some sort that i locked to reply but have an updated list onmost commonly used names for characters like peter and nicknames so people new to the forum dont confuse anybody on the forum as i did recently by calling the haitian MWG for mind wipe guy which is what me and my friends call him at school which carries on onto the site

I think that you should include in the newcomers message a link to the wikipedia article on Heroes. It answers a lot of questions. Here is the link:

We actually do have more than a few links to Wiki on the board. The point of the welcome PM is to familiarize new members to Superhiro.org, and there are plenty of threads here which help educate new members about the characters and their history and powers.

As far as I can see, there are no incidences of classic "dumb n00b" question/response pairs on the boards. Nobody asks stupid questions, everybody responds with good grace. This is unlike the behaviour on any board or chatroom I have ever experienced. And so to all those on this one I say - no need for FAQ's, just keep on being great!

Approximate time until end of financial crisis - 3 weeks. Then I can buy waffles, hurrah! Smile

I totally agree, Superhiro. I've never joined a board before because of dumb questions that could be answered by simply scrolling up, flaming, lack of original content or a semblance of organization, and massive clique-ocity (I made up a word! Woo!). Now that I think about it, I've never wanted to bother reading one for more than a week.

I'd like to commend all the mods, and members for that matter, for making this a fan-freaking-tastic place to be. Rock on.

We're lucky here, we only have one resident public-flamer, and one-or-two negative energy monkeys. They've just had their spat for the week and the flamer has flounced off forever again, so we should be okay for another few weeks.

One has to put up with a little bit of negativity now and then, otherwise what would we have to compare all the positive energy to? Smile
