I think that Tim's going to incorporate the explanation in one of the episodes instead of wait for a new season.

After all, it's getting to be a major point in the story now, and since it's a recurring theme, it needs to be explained. Why does Adam Monroe take it as his symbol in Japan? Why is it used by Adam when he's killing off the Gen. 1 Company executives? How did Niki get the tattoo? Where did The Haitian get the necklace??

Anyway, all of these need to be explained in some form, and soon. So it's my guess that they'll devote a couple of episodes to explaining the origin of the symbol, and what it means....

Well, Origins has officially been scrapped now. Yeah, the symbol has to be important in some way. My theory for the tattoo is that Jessica isn't really a split personality disorder, but rather the real Jessica's soul. She's made several comments throughout the show which has made me believe that it's really Niki's deceased sister, possibly Jessica had the ability of some type of spirit transfer. It could just be that if Niki is closed to a deceased at their death, she can incorporate their soul into her body, or something like that. Maybe only people related to her.

But anyway, I gotta expect something will be explained. I remember seeing the symbol on Chandra's map once with a question mark.

I heard in an interview with one of the writers that the symbol isn't important. It's just a visual link that ties the Heroes together, or something to that effect.

Urm..... you had me until the "Niki using Adam as a human shield" theory.

But I buy everything else. Adam, could very well be the actual source of the symbol. And we probably have not seen all instances of it yet.

I was just going off on a silly tangent and thinking about the benefits of Adam and Niki/Jessica working together as an evil duo, which is possible if Niki discovers that her father/grandfather is Adam and he convinces her to join his cause. Niki has super-strength, but aside from lifting cars and throwing them at her enemy, her ability is best used when close-ranged. If she's fighting someone with a far-ranged power (like Elle), she probably has no chance of getting close to Elle without getting hurt, injured, or electrically knocked out. However, with Adam on her side, Niki could use Adam as a human shield in order to get close to Elle, at which point one punch would knock Elle out, and could probably kill her. My imagination goes wild sometimes roll

Heck, instead of throwing cars as projectiles, she could even throw Adam himself! Lol
