I was just wondering.... My opinion then is this... I don't believe Squeeker's interpretation, because it's based on the translation of the characters.
"GODSEND" comes to us from the Japanese language. If these characters meant something reversed, and so Molly drew them reversed, then I would believe there was something there... That Molly is saying "SEND GOD"? I don't buy even for a millisecond. Sorry Squeeker.

Upside-down sometimes means something is backwards or even evil. A horseshoe upside-down from the direction which means good luck calls for bad luck. In different countries, which direction that is varies! Putting a stamp on a letter upside-down used to mean something, but I forget what, unfortunately. And to some, turning a cross or pentagram upside-down makes it into a symbol for evil. So if "godsend" is upside-down, I think it means something is backward or wrong about it, not that the characters or words are reversed.
I'm pretty sure Hiro or Ando said that the symbols combined to say 'god-send', which meant 'great gift'.
Not that one part of the symbol was 'god-send' and the other 'great gift'.
Bleh. As I mentioned somewhere on the other page, it could just mean that his symbol is a perverted version of the godsend symbol, like an upside down horseshoe is a pervesion of the symbol of good luck,

It's actually two characters. The bottom half (the part with two lines going left) is "Godsend", while the top seems to be the "Great Talent" part. They just flipped them around is all.
Aye, I didn't mean flipped upside down, it is rotated 180 degrees. Thanks for checking the scene again. I'll stop calling it the Godsend symbol now, since its the 'GreatTalent/Godsend' symbol; hence forth known as GT/GS!
Hmmm... isn't that how human vision works in regards to light entering our eyes? Upsidedown and backwards? Interesting... considering that Molly draws the symbol in reference to someone who can "see" her.

My theory was only that it's swung upside down as a perversion. BUT! I do like the light entering eyes point! Since Molly doesn't use her actual eyes it is possible. However, she drew herself on the bed the right way up, so...
It just occured to me that i havent seen any mention in this thread of the symbol appearing on Caitlyn's arm when her and Peter kissed at the end of Kindred. It appears shortly after he is given the box and decides not to open it yet.

Tim Kring, in today's episode of the POST SHOW, the show that airs after the re-air of the latest "Heroes" episode on the G4 TV network (Saturday, December 8th, 2007) revealed that his intention was to let everyone know what the "Helix" or "Symbol" means in the first episode of "Heroes: Origins". His explanation would have tied together ALL THE OTHER explanation we have seen put forward so far (the Japanese symbol, the tatoos, the necklace, etc.)
However, with the writer's strike, of course those plans are now on hold. He will either save it for when "Heroes: Origins" DOES air, or incorporate in the regular storyline down the road.
