Not sure about the Haitian's cancelling powers ability to be the only one. I'm sure there are other "similiar" abilities that work at different levels. I'm thinking this because of future Gabriel's ability to block Peter in all ways that Peter was trying to "mimic" his powers or force him to divulge them. Gabriel did this consciously. Perhaps this suppressive poower is what allowed Gabriel to "suppress" his own 'hunger' which is why he didn't use any other powers. He needed to focus the one suppressive power on himself at all times. (ok - off topic.......)

that is quite possible, but have we seen people using their own abilities on thmeselfs like that before?

can linderman heal himself, thats the sort of thing that i mean

I thought the Haitians ability involved a sort of mind Reading technique as the picture he drew when he was a boy showed him pulling memories out of someones head. So surely if he and peter both knew how to use it, peter would be able to keep the Haitian out of his head, jus like matt can and they get that painfull reaction. Since the hatian doesn't have any actual field of energy around him as such, he just gets inside each individuals head. So that would mean if peter knew how to do it he could defend himself from the Haitian and still use his other abilities

i dunno tbh......the hatians ability isnt thatstrong anyway. matt managed to break through not long after developing his ability. he can stop abilties but with deep concentration peple can break thruit so i see no reason why people could just stop him fom doing it to the period

Hopefully tonight, we will gain a better understanding of the Haitian's ability. Isn't he suppose to be more involved in tonight's episode?

I kind of dig the idea that the Hatian's ability could be the key to the "hunger" experienced, first by Sylar, and now by Peter. That they could use it on themselves? IDK. It's obviously an outward thing, or the Hatian would be completely friggin useless, cancelling the power out every time he activated it, like a light bulb that repeatedly shorted out every time u turned it on.

BUT

I think it's more of a mentalist kinda thing.... like maybe even Parkman could do what the Hatian does? I think turning this power against yourself could have dire consequences, a la the graphic novel that described the emergence of the Hatian's power. Immediate Self Mind-Wipe, or something crazy.

Now as for the Peter vs. the Hatian: At some point in their brief meetings, there had to be a window where Peter could have absorbed the Hatian's power.... If you have the power, maybe, u can activate it and be immune to it's nullifying effect if it's being used by another? If so, then the Hatian would be SCREWED.
