If peter is wounded by a nuclear energy wielding sylar he can heal. However, not before he met claire.

He gets the wound so many years before he meet claire that the wounds naturally heals and is normal mark on his body. IMO,His body would not hear something that seems normal. Hiro or someone else travels back in time and causes a bad event to become worse.

Maybe Angela or hiro is killed by sylar and he wounds a unevolved peter.

Time to revive this old idea since the first time it came up in "Hiros" (episode 5 of S1). I have a crazy theory about how Future Peter got his scar… it's going to sound ridiculous, but you know me haha, so just hear me out... Here goes (spoilers below):

In one of the previews apparently there's a big bald guy locked in Level 5 of The Company that says, "I'm not who you think I am. I'm Peter Petrelli." Now, let’s go back to the theory that there really is someone with a body-switch ability, and let’s say that Peter encountered this person. The body-switcher (who I assume is a villain, and I will now refer to as “B-S” for ease of typing) finds out about Peter and his mimicry, and thus he gets a hold of Peter and switches bodies.

But what does this have to do with Peter’s scar? Here’s my theory. Maybe after switching into another special’s body, the B-S can utilize that special’s ability while in the stolen body. For example, if B-S went into Nathan’s body, he would be able to fly in addition to still being able to body snatch.

So, maybe in hopes of utilizing Peter’s mimicry, B-S steals Peter’s body. B-S then goes on a rampage (still in Peter’s body), and is eventually confronted by Hiro, possibly the only person who could stop the B-S. We know that Peter’s mimicry is difficult to control to begin with, so what if during the fight between Hiro and B-S, Hiro slashes him in the face, and B-S is not able to access healing either because (1) he can’t control the mimicry, or (2) his body is too weak to involuntarily heal. The third option is that he can't utilize the abilities of other specials when he inhabits their bodies, but then again, I don't really see the point of body-switching if you can't use the other person's ability as well...

In summary, I am suggesting that Future Peter got his scar while his body was inhabited by B-S, and that after trying to cause destruction, B-S was attacked by Future Hiro and slashed across the face, but couldn’t heal the wound for one reason or another.

I know, it’s a ridiculous theory, but it adds some spice to the “story” behind the scar. No?

Thoughts on my nuttiness?

i dont hate it...

but its ..not what'd i'd hope for. i want something UBER cool, at first i wanted the haitian+hiro or something to cause it...now...

remember s1 when future hiro told peter about the scar? he kinda smirked/smiled...go back n watch it

it makes things..interesting

I totally agree with you that F. Hiro probably caused the scar, Def, especially since it looks like a slice. But I definitely think that a body-snatcher-inhabiting-Peter's-body-scar-theory is a ridiculously cool thing to happen... no?

In S1 E05 entitled "Hiros," Future Hiro could have been thinking to himself, "You look different without the scar" *smirk* ("You remember, right? That time when that idiot did a body switch into yours and I had to slash you face in order to stop him and get your consciousness back into your own body? Oh wait, no you don't remember, because it didn't happen to you yet. Maybe it won't happen to you this time around. We'll find out. Good times man, good times. Let's go grab a beer. Just don't let me teleport while I'm drunk. I could end up as 'lunch for a T-Rex!' Oh, and um, yeah, Save the Cheerleader, Save the world. Cya." *poof*)

i dont know why , at first i liked the idea of a "body switching" power, but to me it just sounds like a FAR too powerfull ability to have......it just seems like a power that would dictate the wole season on it own, kinda like if sylar has the illusion power.

1- i liked that thing of yours popkorn about *smirk* "cuz i had to cuz ur face cuz u got body snatched like a newb"

2- yea, it COULD dictate an entire season BUT....i much rather something like ...they introduce the body snatcher, then we see peter in someone's body then we're like "ahhha!! the body snatcher!" then we find out it was like...future peter/peter/future sylar who gains the body snatcher's ability in the future, and then bodyswitches with the ability..meaning...we arent like trippin on the fact that he's bodysnatched...we trip on the fact that it wasnt "TED" (meaning in s1, when we saw the bomb, and then were introduced to ted..many fans thought "aha! this is the nuke guy!") but it wasnt

i think if they did the 'candice' thing again, but in a diff way, it'd blow our minds

back to the scar...they say it gets xplained etc...did they say THIS season? i heard back in s1/2 they were gonna wait till like what?...s5?! i dunno if they could even have milo that long

what exactly do u mean?

i really liked the theory that it waz future hiro tht gave peter the scar, it would be a fairly easy solution to the problem aswell.

i was wondering aswell the smirk that hiro does could also be that he and future peter were doing something in the future sort of like when they were busting people out of jail in one of the graphic novels........not sure which one is was tho. and peter go injured while doing this? just a theory that i thought of, not sure if anoyone else has come up with it yet

I like that thought, Wolves, a lot. Perhaps F. Hiro and F. Peter were on a mission (like saving some specials, as you suggest) and they were attacked by some other specials who worked for The Company (just like in the GNs "Walls part 1" and "2" when Peter and Hiro were attacked during the jailbreak). Maybe one of their attackers had a body control or mind control ability and took over Peter's body during the fight. As a result, Peter started attacking Hiro. If this happened, Hiro would have probably had to stop time in order to make the fight somewhat even - it wouldn't have worked on Peter, but at least the other attackers would have been frozen in time. At which point Hiro would just have to do a few teleportation moves in order to get in front of Peter and slash him, thus probably breaking the mind control or whatever was controlling Peter.

The only problem is that this DOESN'T explain why the scar didn't immediately heal, which is why I need something more substantial as a story behind the scar. Present Peter now has healing, which means Future Peter has healing (once we see him again in the series). Either the Haitian was involved as well, as Def suggests (which I like also), or Peter's body was inhabited by someone else who couldn't access/control healing.

Whatever the situation was in regards to the scar, my opinion is that Peter was FORCED to go against Hiro. It's pretty clear from "Five Years Gone" that even though Peter and Hiro have had their differences, they are still on the same side in the end. Thus, the only way for Peter to go against Hiro would be for him to be mind controlled, body switched, or manipulated (like Adam did). That's my thought on the scar situation.

nice thought PK, but remember when parkan tried to controll peter, he couldnd do it, i waz wondering if that is because the second peter is close to a "special" he has that exact ability........and with present peter gaining increasing controll of his powers id presume that he would be stronger than the guy trying to controll him?

the problem with peter is that he is the most powerfull hero and if the writers try to develop him into a "grey" hero then he WILL be to powerfull. i dont think that even sylar would be able to match his power if he turns out like f/peter

At this moment, we do know that Peter is the most powerful character in the show. However, we know virtually nothing about any of the Level 5 inmates nor about any of their powers. I'd venture to say that even though their powers may not be as 'good' as mimicry, they most definitely have more experience using their abilities, and I'm going to also assume that many of them have enough knowledge to be able to outsmart Peter (Present Peter, at least) in order to 'take over' his body (if there is a body-switch ability). I also think that there's a possibility that even Future Peter can be outsmarted, no matter how physically powerful he is. Everyone has a weakness... for Peter, we've seen it to be the fact that he's too much of a softy. But again, we won't know for sure until we are introduced to the Level 5 inmates. Just my 2 cents! Smile

on the l5 prisoners escaping, do u think that is f.peter that breaks them out? and that clip where we saw what appeared to be peter in the background when angela was looking at the cells she couldnt actually see them?

p.peter and f.peter could work together to try and get his body back and f.peter could tell p.peter about the abilities that he has but doesnt know that he has idea

that would be ace.......p.peter could be bad ass

although f.peter would be pretty crap if he doesnt have any powers cause he has been body snatched lol
