Does anyone have more information about the actor? I am not familar with his work in the past and would love to learn anything that might be known about him.
Masi no ka-san thought that her son would profit more from schooling in america so they moved here when he was 6. In Japan, you may only be good not great. Masi likes working both sides of the brain ie imagination as well as logical stuff. He went to Brown and grad with a degree in computers. He worked for ILM. He does work like making grograms that an artist can use to creack astorids physically correct. he did starwars and pirates 1 & 2. Pretty cool. Besides CG stuff, he's acted in tons of movies and tv.
Well, that's him in a nutshell. i don't have too good a memry so don't knock me if I get some info wrong.
though he may have lived and worked in America most of his life, I'm sure he visits Japan all the time as a wealthy native and 1st generation immigrant... and I'm sure Japanese is still his 1st language... thus his awesome authenticity
that's frakin' awesome that he does CG and acting both.... must be a really cool guy... it takes alot of talent to be allowed work on a major special effects blockbuster like Star Wars or Pirates... I'm in school to be a 3d animator myself and I know that some of the best artists in the world worked on those movies, especially Pirates... most of those artists do very little else... they dedicate themselves to their craft every single day... but that Masi Oka still has talent to spare
That's really cool that his mom noticed his talent. Even better that she knew Masi would really grow here in America. (Woo Hoot! One point for america!)

He is fluent in Japanese and English, and is proficient in Spanish. His hobbies include kendo (Japanese sword fighting), playing video games, watching and writing romantic comedies, playing the piano, and singing. His birthday is December 27.
