I'm just curious if anyone here has played the Marvel Super Heroes RPG. I think it came out in about 1987 or so, back when Dungeons and Dragons was all the rage, and comic book stores regularly sold graph paper for making maps.

I have not played since the early 1990s when my character (who was way too powerful but he rolled with a powerful group) accidentally destroyed New York City while trying to save it. But he was really angry because whatever villains we were fighting had killed his sidekick, a gigantic dog named Pookie.

I missed a few later sessions when the same group of heroes were in Antarctica where they found a 10-story cannon of some sort pointed at the ground. They didn't analyze it or anything, so they didn't know it had a rating of "Beyond" (which is so far past human comprehension that immortals and deities shouldn't understand it). And it made a gigantic hole in the earth from the north pole to the south pole, through the core.

The heroes were not very popular in their world after that. We said "oops," but nobody was happy about it.

I wish I had, it sounds very cool. In the 90's I ran with a crowd who did weekend long D&D sessions with similiar high-level results like yours.

Word. I can only imagine how good our D&D sessions would have been with a decent laptop. I once spend 4 hours making a chracter sheet on an i386 in Word. Now you can blow 4 days playing an MMO/MMORPG like City of Heroes or Ultima Online.

I just posted at my website a rudimentary character sheet for Hiro Nakamura if he were a character in Marvel Super Heroes.

The character sheet also contains change summaries (reflecting gains and losses in karma and hp, etc.) for each episode so far.

I may end up doing it for more characters but with six episodes already done, it might be tough.

I've also posted character sheets with progress for Ando and Niki. Excuse the ugly formatting. With CSS I can style stuff later.

Ye gods we STILL play marvels superheros.. I am looking at the box right now. hehhehhe!
Actually I haven't had a chance to play in a while.. but the husband and friends get together every thursday for a game, but I work 3rd so I am usually left out.. *sigh*
We vary between homemade campaigns and storebought stuff... deadlands, marvel, DnD, call of cthulhu (personal fave) and lodas of gurps.. wow now that I look at it back at it I can see just how big of nerds we really are! HA!

Anywho.. Marvel eh? I have a character drawn up right now IF I ever get to use her! She is a 9 year old whos dad used her for electrical experiments, yeah some dad.. anyways it shoosted her essence from her body and now she is an electric being, kind of like a ghost with voltage.. that was in the early 1900's hehehe so she is all stuck as a nine year old but over a century old..

I could go on about characters but I will spare you guys! Smile

Pssh, everyone knows that having a Remarkable Teleport Self ability would require him to make at least a Yellow FEAT roll to teleport at Excellent range.... I mean... what a nerdy game. Wink

"What a nerdy game" is right... That's why most of the roleplaying I do these days resolves combat with .68 caliber paintballs and personal stats are left up to the physical ability of the players.
