"'Heroes' has wrapped up its 'Generations' storyline. The AP's Lauri Neff checks out what fans are saying about the show, which has fallen in the ratings over its 2nd season. (Dec. 4)"
Many felt this was a mediocre end to a mediocre second season. I share my thoughts with the AP - tell us what you think!
i think i was one of the few that enjoyed it. sure things could have been better, but hey its a tv show not a topic in a national debate. Sure i think Peter could have read Adam's mind, sure Maya could have taken sylar's gun. but hey, that would just make things too easy. The only thing i would have liked to see would be flashbacks on the company forming and how the evolved ones "found each other". but hey, always room in the heroes universe for that.
...And Peter could have phased though the vault walls with Adam holding his shoulder the way they escaped from the Company facility....
But, I agree, I liked the episode pretty much. Loved the poetic justice of sticking Adam underground in Kaito's coffin (although the mechanics of how Hiro could have done that with sufficient precision boggle the mind if one thinks about it too much). Rob

Hiro bends time and space... he could have put adam ANYWHERE, hell he should have put him in or near the sun. as for Kaito's body... perhaps the company ressurected him? from what id guess hes very important to them since his power is likely pretty powerful and now that he is thought to be dead he can be used in whatever way Bob deems neccesary.
What makes you all think it was Kaito's grave anyway? Sure, it was the same graveyard. But not the grave! The stone under which Adam was buried, is the same stone we saw in the opening scene of #9 "Cautionary Tales" - the stone beyond which we saw Kaito's funeral taking place.
Plus, I can't read Japanese symbols but I can tell you that the symbols on the stone above Adam are not the Symbols appearing on the Nakamura grave/s.
Well he could have used the teleporting with frozen time like with the peter scene. He was able to use both abilities at the same time. He could have just tped to that location and froze time. Then with time frozen used an already undug grave site to bury him while frozen then unfreeze time once he left.
That would be how Adam realizes he is stuck there. It would explain the simplicity of burying him as well.
I do feel the only downfall was that the season ended FAR too early. That part blows and makes it start to seem like it will begin to fail where it could succeed.
What a complete let down. I had felt that this whole season was Season 1 recycled...and the end of EP11 was another example.
-Granted I like the speech and flashback sequence...but why do it again. Do we expect it to happen again next season?
-Finally I get to see Nathan...flew Matt, met Peter, and got shot in the end. Wow.
-Poor Nikki...missed her opportunity for the cure and ended up exploding in a house.
-Yeah I agree the Sylar Moh thing was just plain dumb.and the Spinach can.
Man (to repeat)...I wish there would have been a BIG climatic ending with all the HEROES coming together again like last Season. Hiro HELPING Peter....or a cool scene of MOH giving Nikki the cure and instantly (like Sylar) she heals and goes on a punching rampage...maybe knocking out Maury.
I agree. This season was WAY too short. There was a ton of story that needed to be told, and not enough time to adequately tell the whole story.
As it was, the season was choppy, indecisive, and basically loose. The major storyline got told, but only in the last few episodes, after seeing the writing on the wall that there wasn't enough time to go into the details that made last season so popular.
In last season, we at least got some serious character development, and we were able to see interaction with the different storylines a couple of times before the finale.
In this season? We watched 4-5 different stories being told, and only at the end did everything get a chance to tie together. It left the viewer asking for more, only to have them be told to "wait until next year".
I'd have to say that the Maya/Sylar/Alejandro story was annoying.
The Micah/Niki/Monica storyline was mildly interesting, but didn't really make much of an impact on the season.
The Mohinder/HRG/Bob story was good. However, the different jogs between stories left the whole plot feeling disjointed, and unfinished. Thus, in my opinion there's much more that could've been done with that storyline.
The Claire/West story was just pure pablem. I think it was more for the googly-eyed teens wanting to see more of the pretty Claire than anything else. And seriously? What was West's role besides being someone to replace Zack?
Finally there's the Peter storyline. We all knew he was going to be the pivotal character in this series again. How, we weren't quite sure. But the story jumped around so much that you really lost focus on some of the details. What was the reason for stashing Peter in that container in the first place? How's he going to save his love? Who was Adam really hiding from? Where are the rest of the group that began the Company?
Lastly, there's Angela's story. This one deserves a storyline of it's own. She's been an enigma since season 1, and she's continuing on in grand fashion. At first she came off as eccentric. Now? I'd say she's more diabolical than even Bob is acting towards his daughter. I'd like to see more of her story down the road.
Anyway, my overall rating for this season is a solid C-. Compared with the A that I gave last season, the staff has a lot of ground to make up for this poor showing this season. Let's hope they're able to reinvent the wheel, or something of that nature!
You forgot about the Maury/Matt/Molly storyline, which for me, along with the HRG storyline, was really the only one this season worth watching. It was cool to see Matt further develop his powers and deal with the psychological issues and the real problem of confronting his dad and himself. That may have been the best part of this season.
I also like the HRG story with the painting and his obsession, and the Peter/Adam/Hiro story got somewhat exciting at the end, but overall this season wasn't that great and I'm not sure I'm gonna buy it on DVD. I probably will though just because I have obsessive compulsive issues and will have to own every Heroes episode for better or worse lol. But let's hope next season is better.
Meh, I pretty much agree with Jorm - except for the Peter storyline bit. I would argue that there WAS no Peter sotryline this season, because Peter was totally out of chatacter. Who the hell that short haired guy was with all the powers, I don't know. Wasn't the Peter I saw in S1. Maybe we'll see him in V3. I hope.
