I have a sneaking feeling that Peter is what drove the Linderman Group apart.

Kaito named Hiro in honor of the victims of Hiroshima, correct? Then he could not in good conscience accept Linderman's plan to destroy New York with a human bomb.

Papa Petrelli doesn't seem to be the type of guy (from the GN) to be willing to sacrifice his own flesh and blood for a noble cause. I think he'd be willing to sacrifice strangers, but his own son? I don't think so.

Angela has been seeming to be colder and more calculating than I first took her for at the beginning of the series. I'd have to say that she strikes me as someone who is willing to give up her child for a dream that she has.

Linderman, as we all know, is the calculating kind that always tends to have a finger or two on the scales to tip the balance to his side. Thus, he's the one that has planned this whole thing from the start.

I'm thinking that Papa Petrelli and Kaito along with a few others couldn't stand to see Linderman plotting something so vile as to be willing to destroy an entire city. Thus, they've been working to establish a resistance to Linderman's plans on 'uniting the world'.

Now, in 5 years gone, F. Hiro has been working on all the stuff his father had collected over the years, and has been researching the paths of each and every one of the key players. We can see that he was very suprised to find that his father's email account at Primatech was still active, giving us the impression of a serious fallout there. We also see that he's been looking for others, as evidenced by his cheering of finding Molly.

We also know from the episode that he'd been searching for and hiding others, such as Candace, DL, and Molly. We know that he'd been keeping a timeline, and had found a couple of key points that would affect his time, even if they could potentially cause a rift.

Therefore, I'm thinking that because of Peter, Kaito split from Linderman. Kaito then used his power and influence to gather others to his cause, and began collecting data on each and every person he could find, even the ones with links to Linderman himself.

Hiro, in the future, then uses this data to find the appropriate times to add 20/20 hindsight, and give them a better chance for defeating the one thing that he and his father had set out to do... Stop the Bomb.

Even though this may mean the sacrifice of Ando, I think Hiro's ultimate goal is going to be the nullification of the bomb, plain and simple. After all, when watching episode 22, you can see that he is truly his father's son.

I think Papa Petrelli might have had his own ideas of how to use MAXIMUM POTENTIAL Peter (his own son) to "rule the world" (or make it better for metas).

I bet we'll find out more next year!

Some thoughts:

Someone mentioned that Matt isn't bad, but just weak. Couldn't it be that Sylar just used the 'power of the spoken word' he ripped from the girl who shot her head off.
We've seen him use that on Isaac, although i ain't sure if it worked on the painter.
Sylar said him: "show me." And then nailed him to the ground.

Unfortunately, Sylar doesn't have Eden's power of suggestion - she shot herself in the head to prevent him from taking her brain. It's been confirmed somewhere (I'll try to find the link) that the "voice" that Sylar uses is just an audio effect to make scenes seem more intense. Thus, Sylar didn't use Eden's power on Isaac either.

But Peter... however... he's another story...

Yeah, it would have made more sense for Sylar to have still been able to get Eden's power (enough of the brain in pieces...) but TPTB stated that he didn't. The "voice" effect was just to heighten the drama in the scene.

As much as I like this show, that seems kind of cheap, putting what seems to be the "voice" in the show and it's just dramatic license.

And now for something completely different...

Apparently Future Hiro stabbed Sylar in the past, but Sylar regenerated. The graphic novel shows Sylar going supernova before his eyes, but how much of that was poetic drawing? Did Hiro actually see Sylar go nova?

And something that hasn't been discussed here (that I can see anyway) is that would decapitation be a permanent injury the healing power wouldn't recover from? The brain is the centre of that power, and without a body attached, it couldn't regenerate it.

Why didn't Future Hiro go back to semi-Future Hiro and tell him how to kill Sylar properly?

After all, there can be only one!

Well, I think the graphic novels - that are done in a standard style - are meant to be literal. That happened to F. Hiro at the original explosion.

As far as decapitation, we've seen that when Claire's chest was sliced open for her autopsy, she didn't heal until she pushed her chest together. So it follows that if her - or Peter's - head is lopped off, then they would be "dead" until it was reattached...as long as the brain itself wasn't too physically damaged.
