To part 1:
He sliced him in the first timeline when he had Claire's power. This never happened in timeline 2. That's what Hiro is going back to do now in timeline 3.
To part 2: This may very well be a plot hole...or they may provide an adequate explanation. Or they may leave it to us to theorize our little heads off on.
yea...the future that future hiro goes back to (does that make sense?) aka ....when future hiro returns to HIS present, sylar doesnt have the regen ability, peter does (even though he has the scar, maybe because the haitain who knows?) future hiro's present HAS changed, its just that the bomb still went off, much to his dismay
The first time line was before Hiro went back and gave peter save the cheerleader message and Sylar and not peter got the clairs heal ability and was the bomb after hiro failed to kill him?
The second is where Hiro went back, gave peter the message to save claire, where he got her heal ability not sylar and peter was the bomb. Where hiro had not tryed to kill Sylar yet because he had jumped to the future before he had stabbed sylar?
So now the 3rd time line the one which will play out over the next few episodes , is where Hiro had returned to the present and realised his destiny and its all up in the air has to whats going to happen?

If New York goes nuclear in the present, how are they able to occupy it just 5 years later? Surely with all the fallout and radiation there's no way that's possible...unless when Peter explodes it's not nuclear but just an explosion of energy or whatever. Oh well that just crossed my mind today lol....

After the atom bomb it was originally stated that Hiroshima would be uninhabitable for 70 years. I think it was just a few months afterwards that weeds started growing back. It wasn't too implausible for me they would be okay standing there 5 years after the fact. (And welcome to the board!)

Because it was the 2nd time line where Hiro went back to tell Peter to save her so Sylar doesnt take her ability like he does in the 1st time line.
The reason the bomb still goes off is because (bare with me its hard to explain writen) the 2nd time line starts from the point of the underground train with Hiro and Peter, then when Hiro jumps to the future in "5 years later" because he's in the future he hasnt Stabbed sylar in the presant... With me?
So when he jumps back to the presant in the new epiosde he takes over the 3rd time line where no 1 knows whats gonna happen.
U know, I was just thinking .... when Nathan/Sylar asked Mohinder if he could synthesize a cure to reverve the evolution, I wonder if Mohinder considered studying the Haitian and synthesizing a cure based on his ability to neutralise powers. Think X-Men 3's plot.
OK, I just had a quick thought, and sorry if it's been mentioned already! I haven't been in for a while but had to share this chop-busting question. OK, if Future Hiro 'knew' Sylar was the bomb, and the cause of so many deaths, why didn't he just go WAY back into time and kill Sylar when he was a kid or something? I know it's a bit morally unsavoury, but it'd save a LOT of good people, and prevent the bomb from going off? I reckon jaded Future Hiro would need little prompting to do so...

But dont forget, all the paintings of the Future Issac done before F.Hiro went back and told Peter to save Claire become obselete due to the time line being altered. Or atleast they should.
