|
|
Hi to everyone who will read this post. Only serious inquiries please. No stupid jokes.
Ok, here's the situation:
I am running an older computer system (ok ancient), with Windows 2000 and Firefox as my browser. This is how I get on this forum. Since everything I do is on the web THROUGH broadband, SPEED is not an issue. Firefox renders pretty much everything correctly, including this website/forum. I have really had no problems, posting to the forum, in terms of regular posts.
However, I purchased the right to use a "Signature" in my posts. Ok cool you say. Well, in the Edit my profile section the following information is selected:
ALWAYS ATTACH MY SIGNATURE: YES
ALWAYS ALLOW BBCODE: YES
ALWAYS ALLOW HTML: YES
ALWAYS ENABLE SMILIES: YES
But, to the left of the signature block it says:
HTML is OFF
BBCodes OFF: [quote][code][list][url]
Smilies are ON
In effect, of the things that I am allowing in my profile, the only one allowed is "Smilies".
The one I want to turn on is URL.
Why is HTML not allowed or OFF? Why are BBCODES OFF? How can I turn them on for the signature? Why is that different? Or is it?
Why do I want to turn URL on? Well, because like Popkorn615 has done (who I realize IS a moderator after all) and Acidburn133 (who is not), I want to link to a couple of POSTS of mine in my signature, indicating some of my theories for the upcoming SEASON 2.
I know the reason sounds silly, but here is the question:
Why isn't the board behaving the same in this instance for me, as it is when I am posting a message?
Is it my Browser?
Is it my operating system?
Is it my lack of knowledge of HTML?
What am I doing wrong?
IF anyone can help, troubleshoot/fix this, I would appreciate this. IF not, don't bother replying.
Thanks. Take care.
Much appreciated. |
