Mohinder narrates. Past scenes are shown. If we could go back and change the past, would we?

Hiro is in the diner, six months ago. He tells Charlie here is there to save her life. "Hold that thought ok, I just have to make a wish." It is her birthday party. The photo is snapped.

Chapter 10 Six Months Ago

Brooklyn - a watchmaker works on his watch. Young man, dark hair. The watchmaker is Gabriel, the watch ticks, he smiles. Chamdra Suresh enters his shop. "Can I help you?" I hope so he says. Gabriel can hear that the self-winding timer is two seconds low in Chandra's watch. "I came here to find you Gabriel" Suresh says. He hands Gabriel his book, urges him to read it and call him if he is interested in discussing it.

Matt pulls over a black Ferrari - it's Eden. He asks for license and registration, she says she stole the car. A bottle of alchol is in the passenger seat. He asks her to step out of the car, she suggests to him he go back to his car and eat a dozen donuts. She says it again, with "the voice." He goes back and drives away. The Haitain is in front of her car, she sees him.

Jackie and Claire - another cheerleader has been outed, Claire's in. She says she will try the uniform on later, Jackie becomes snobby and says she will offer it to someone else. They tussle, Claire hits her hand on some glass and shreds her hand. Her hand isn't healing. HRG answers the phone, it is Chandra Suresh. He wants to speak to HRG about Claire.

Hiro tells Charlie not to go to work, notices it is raining. "It wasn't raining yesterday." April Showers says Charlie....Hiro becomes worried. "No, October!" Her birthday is April 24th, Hiro says if he tries to teleport back he could end up anywhere, as lunch for a T-Rex. "I'm stuck."

Commercial

"Hi, my name is Niki. And I'm an alcoholic. I am one year sober today." The group applauds. An AA meeting, Niki describes her problems to the room. An older man in the back of the room sees her, her face goes drawn. Outside the man says he doesn't want another year to go by without her being in his life. "You weren't awful, you just weren't there" she says. He wants to meet DL, his grandson, to get to know her. "Well I don't know if I am ready to get to know you" she says.

A party, Peter answers the door. Nathan and his wife and their mother are there. Peter's mother says their father can't be there because their father is meeting with Linderman. Peter has announced he is becoming a nurse. Nathan and Peter sit, Nathan's wife walks off. Nathan says the DA wants them to prosecute Linderman.

Chandra looks at his map - Gabriel is there. Chandra says he wants to run some tests, MRI, resting rates. "The brain controls every human action..." Chandra says if the soul exists it is in the brain. Gabriel says he wishes when he was a kid that someone would have told him his family wasn't his..he wants to be special. "The watchmaker's son became a watchmaker...it is so futile." "What do you think my abilities might be?" Gabriel asks.

HRG is talking to Eden, reads her charges. She uses the voice on HRG but it doesn't work, the Haitian is there. HRG tells her that with her abilities she could get anything she wants and no one could tell her no, except now there is someone who can.

Hiro is on the phone...he calls Ando, but another Hiro back at the office answers the phone and tells him that Ando is sick and not there! Hiro hangs up the phone - "Great Scot!"

Commercial

Matt is in his cruiser, holding a donut. The guy sleeping with his wife, the other policeman pulls up and asks him what's up with the donuts? "You are just a walking cliche"

Hiro is busing tables, Charlie giggles. "I don't know what we would do without you Hiro, you have such an amazing attitude." Hiro gives her a gift - the Japanese phrasebook. She reads to him from the book fluently. She says lately she has been able to remmeber everything. Hiro tells her it will get stronger in the future. She doesn't believe him, he stops time and gets her flowers and takes her order to the table. "Hiro's a magician!" It's not a trick Hiro says. "A very very bad man is going to come here and...." he pauses. "Tomorrow the swallow will slay the dragon" he says with conviction.

DL and Niki are at her sister's gravesite. Niki says it is important not to forget. She considers how her father could help financially.

Nathan and wife are in Nathan's car, he is driving. They argue over Peter becoming a nurse, Nathan says it is his birthright to take care of the family. "I never asked to be loved more than Peter..." A black blazer is tailgating them, bumping them. She looks over, Nathan isn't there! She calls to him, he is in the air looking down! Flying! The car crashes into highway barrels.

Peter awakens with his hand in the air, just like Nathan's. Goes to the hospital, Nathan doesn't know how he got 300 feet from the car. Peter tells him he had a dream about the accident, there was another car. Nathan dodges then admits it was Linderman's guys. Nathan thinks it is his own fault. They talk about going against their own father. the doctor arrives. Nathan is upset, the doc has bad news. An eclipse symbol is seen in the reflection of the window.

Commercial

Hiro shows her a newspaper - a baseball team called the Swallows beat the Dragons. They discuss Origami. "If a person could fold 1000 cranes she will be granted one wish." Hiro stops time, and there are 1000 cranes all over the room. Hiro wants her to go to Japan, only one ticket.

Gabriel and Suresh talk about evolution, Suresh has him hooked up to an EKG of sorts. Chandra says he may be wrong, that Gabriel may not have a special ability. Gabriel becomes very upset, grabs a file from the desk and asks about the name on the file. Bryan Davis, he's telekinetic, is he special? Gabriel leaves with the Post-it note with Bryan Davis' address, looks at it. He walks away with purpose.

HRG outside an apartment, short scene.

Niki, DL, Micah, and Niki's father are celebraing Micah's birthday. He gives Micah a laptop for his birthday, Micah leaves. Her father says he will pay for Micah's tuition. A tense moment about Niki's alcholism, he leaves the room and sees Micah has taken the computer apart. He becomes irate, abusive with Micah. DL and Niki enter the room - he goes to leave and hands her a check. "What did you do that was so awful" He says she doesn't remember does she? and leaves.

HRG and Chandra Suresh look at the map and discuss Claire. HRG asks if he has a daughter, he says he did. Shanti had a genetic abnormality. HRG asks if you figure this out then what? "We could change the world" says Suresh. HRG says he will think about the whole thing. Suresh thanks him for coming.

Niki arrives at her father's hotel room, but it isn't Niki. It is Jessica. You remember he says, how could I forget? She holds him up by the neck. "Niki doesn't remember, but I do." She says she took the punches so Niki didn;t have to. "You're going to go away, and never come back.?" She pushes the crumpled check into his bloody mouth and leaves.

Commercial

Claire practices her drills, HRG is there. They talk about Jackie, she's a witch says HRG. They take a look at her hand, it is totally healed.

Matt and his wife at home, he didn't pass again. Half the words he sees are backwords - his dyslexia is very serious. He is being hard on himself, "How can you want to kiss me?" "You are everything you want" she tells him. "Eleven years and I am still directing traffic" he says.

Peter says he is ready to give his deposition, Nathan says forget it. Their father is dead, he had a heart attack this morning.

Hiro and Charlie, there is a film festival in Austin! He is very excited. She says he makes her happy, he says her too. "It's more than that, I don't let people get very close." She shares with him that she has a blood clot in her brain, she is dying. "But I was supposed to save you" Hiro says. She tells him he has made her feel more alive, he has saved her. She tells him she loves him, they go to kiss. Hiro jumps - he is back in Japan, on the room where his company excercises? "Aren't you and Ando supposed to be on vacation in America?" one of his coworkers asks. Hiro says he must have jumped, tried to jump again. Can't.

Commercial

Gabriel's working on a watch, tinker's tools. A man enters his shop, it is Bryan Davis. Says someone called him. "Yes I called you, my name is.." he looks down at the watchface. The name on the watch face is "SYLAR." "Gabriel Sylar," he finishes. Bryan moves a cup with his mind, asks Sylar if he can make it go away. "You're broken Sylar says, but don't worry, I can fix it. It is an evolutionary imperative!" He hits Bryan over the head with a crystal.

HRG offers Eden a clean slate. "What do you want me to do?" He says he wants Claire's name off of Suresh's list.

Sylar and Suresh sit at a table, Sylar moves the glass with his mind. Sylar apologizes for the other day, says he has a new purpose, a new identity. That all these people are out there waiting to be told their potential. "We will find them together. We are the future" he says to Suresh.

Present Day, The Burnt Toast Diner. Hiro walks in, Ando is overjoyed. Hiro says he teleported forward, backwards, but he could not save her. "This power is bigger than me but I can't change the past, no matter how hard I try." He holds up the origami crane.

Mohinder narrates, scenes from Homecoming flash past. Charlie dies, Claire is blood, the Haitain drops Sylar, DL gets in the truck. Niki takes aim and shoots. Hiro puts the crane next to Charlie's photo shrine. "I loved her" Hiro says.

I have to ask - was this episode supposed to make us feel a connection to Sylar? Make him more of a person and less of a serial killer? Because what I took from this episode was that he's even more methodically evil than I even expected.

he's just a guy that didnt get enough attention/recognition growing up. kinda like peter he feels as if he was meant for something bigger. he wanted to be important. im not sure how eating other people's brains and taking their powers will make him important but who knows. maybe it's like hey this brian davis doesnt want to embrace his specialness so i'll just make better use of it. i still think sylar deserves a spanking. i wonder at what point suresh starts calling him sylar.

on another note, i can see why nathan shuns his ability. he feels terribly guilty about the accident, flying away and leaving his wife in the car.

. As for your thoughts on Sylar...I believe that we were just supposed to get a glimpse of how his mind works and what is driving him club

. Not only that but what is to happen to our happy go lucky Hiro Sad

I feel really bad for him. What does he do now is the question, I mean will he turn his back on his powers because it couldn't save Charlie. I hope we get to see something of him in the next episode ....

ooo i also forgot to ask about hiro's line about not being able to change the past. so what's the deal with future hiro meeting with peter then? is that something that was always supposed to happen? and future hiro wasnt trying to change anything but just setting things in motion as they were meant to be?

did anyone think it was odd that Isaac was the only character they didn't show. for reasons explained in a different post on the subject its my guess he's the one to get killed off. i thought the episode was ok. i'm not dissapointed don't get me wrong but it felt kinda like a step back (i guess technically it was) after last weeks episode. and now next week will be the last episode untill after newyears ahhhh noooooooooooooo!!!! i dont wanna wait that long for new ones. oh well at least we'll prob get a marathon of em all @ some point b4 the new ones Smile

The deal with furture Hiro is that he did not "directly" interfere with the past (ie he did not go back to stop the event) where our Hiro went back and tried himself to stop Charlie's death Sad

. Hopefully we will get a little more input from Hiro on what he thinks.

Tonights episode showed charlie saying she had a blood clot in her brain and that she was dying. I'm guessing that the future was changed and that she died before syler could kill her, of an anuerism. The alter they kept showing with all the pictures and whatnot has indeed been misleading. She was dead, its just that she wasn't killed. People weren't crying because they knew the death was coming. She remembered that hiro was from the future and guessed as much in the future when they "first" met. She was dropping clues with the book and the ticket to see if he was the same hiro. Its why she said hiro was sweet, because it was the same feelings.

He can change the past, I'm guessing next episode will prove it.

Just in case anyone didn't see it, there will be a Heroes marathon on the Sci Fi channel. I'm not sure of the date and time though.

I thought tonights episode was very informative. It answered all kinds of questions for me. I especially liked it when Matt was sitting in his police car eating the donuts......that was so cute!

Sylar really creeps me out! What did he do to that nerdy guy to take his powers? Did he really eat him? I just can't see him as a cannibal. He has the creepy calmness that always freaks me out about murderers. :::shudder:::

I would like to see what happened to DL and Micah, although i'm not real intrigued by the Micah, DL storyline. I love Nikki and Jessica though, she is one of my favorite characters.

I also think Isaac is the one that is killed. In one of the previews doesn't Hiro knock on Isaac's studio door and finds a body laying on the ground with his scull cut open??

Did anybody notice the broken watch sylar is wearing in episode 8??

In the scene he is telepathically grabbing a cup in the restaurant.

I'm pretty sure there is a reason for it. Anybody wanna discuss?

There is also clockworks background music when it closes up on him. Well his silhouette anyways. XD Which I thought was cool... The music.. not his.. silhouette... haha

I also agree with kabelion

When She was talking to Hiro about how his checks wobble when he concentrates.. He's never "concentrated" in front of her before.
