Charlie did not know him at that time because he had not gone back yet. As the scene was leading toward his going back in time, things started to change. Charlie began to feel very close to him very quickly, which is odd for someone who stated in Eps 10 that she did not let people"in" due to her blood clot. She did have the Japanese phrase book, but stated that she had not looked at it until a week ago, when she actually started reviewing it as soon as Hiro gave it to her. And of course the picture on the bulletin board of her B-Day Party changed to include Hiro. I believe that this was to show a melding/convergence of the timelines as Hiro goes back in time, so there are inconsistentcies that are trying to be resolved right before our eyes, the effects just aren't immediate, but a blending.

Hey folks! Finally got to watch 6 months ago. WOW.

This one had a different feel because it was answering questions we had for a while, but we are so hungry for what is going to happen that some of us felt let down by the "recap".

I am fixing to post a whole bunch of crap in spoilers and theories section after I scan it first. So check it out cause I have a few ideas.

Interesting that Chandra mentioned that some mutiations are like cancer and stuff. He also hinted that his daughters 'mutation' ended up being deadly and he dosen't want anyone else to go throught that. So then enter Charlie. She is diagnosed with an blood clot and now possesses a phenominal photographic memory! Did the blood clot bring it on? Was Chandra's daughter changed in a way much the same?
Poor Hiro. But alas most of what I want to say next comes under the theories thread.

Jessica was Niki's sis! Who saw that comming? Seriously, I am not bored with the Jessica thing, I am confused. So she has multiple personalites? I am not sold on her yet.

Sylar! WOW! So whiney little boy didnt get enought attention in his life and now he slays to get it. Sounds familiar.. hehe..

Overall I really liked it. I know some are disspointed because it didnt move the story forward, but I feel it really did.

I really like how the writers explained the Nikki/Jessica thing. So, her dead sister comes into her body, like a possession, or a guardian angel. Because of the way SHE was treated and killed by the father, she would want to hang around and protect her sister. It seems Jessica was the older sister and (dur here) Nikki is her younger sister. So, it's about protecting a loved one. Plus she died having been abused and she takes the abuse so Nikki doesn't have to, so that's why she's the way she is!
Is that off topic? Crap, this is hard.

I also thought it was funny when Nathan appeared flying above the car. Heidi I'm sure saw him? It sure explains why he thinks his powers and probably all powers are useless. They couldn't help him save his wife or prevent the accident or ANYTHING. It just saved his life.
Interesting plot event about the trying Linderman thing. I wonder, did the dad commit suicide or was he killed? If he committed suicide was it from guilt from getting involved with Linderman or ... something?

I felt so sorry for Hiro! He didn't get to say "I love you too" or even get his kiss. >.< ZOMG! I really felt that, emotionally.

It's interesting that HRG knew about the heroes before Papa Suresh. How did their group find out? He wants Claire off the list because how would it look if a member of the group he is in has a hero in the family? AND hoe can he do what he does and then go home to his daughter. Simply put, its the old idea of not taking work home with you You have your work, and them separately you have your home, where you can relax and jest be a father and a husband.
So, one reason to get her name off the list is to keep her from getting involved in all of this. He just wants her to be a normal teenage girl. It's a fatherly human thing to do, great character development.

Interesting to see the Matt and Eden lines connect. So, even 6 months ago the heroes are running into each other by "fate" It was funny and a good acting job by especially Matt. I just like him, I don't know why. This character could so turn out to be annoying, but it's really the actor that I keep watching. I just don't like the wife, I never have.

I feel better about Eden now.

I want to know more about the Haitian Guy!

and yeah .. where was Issacc? Maybe they didn't have time, and he was in the comic instead?

So, micah is just interested in mechanical things or what? Why would he open up a brand new computer? Curious? The dad was a bit too pissy, but what would you do if you walked in and immediately saw your grandson opening up the computer? He should have hit him, THEN we could have thought he was a jerk! But, I guess NBC doesn't want to have violence to children shown. They were "nice" enough to show drug use on screen that had a kind of "positive" effect so ... yeah.
I hope NBC doesn't wimp out TOO much and tie the hands of the makers of the show. I'm sure a compromise can be had. They already do a lot you don't usually don't get to see on TV!

Sylar ... OK, THAT was fascinating! What a great actor! I just loved watching him, listening to him, the look of him. I feel he really nailed that character! How did this show get so lucky with all these great actors?

SuperHiro .... I don't think they were trying to get us to sympathize with him it was a character development thing. Showing us how this guy ticks. I like how they did it. Mystery is fine and good because that makes the bad guy scarier BUT I also think it's helpful if we DO get to know about him more. What drives him, what made him do what he does. The most fascinating thing about evil or bad people in the real world is that they do not see themselves a bad/evil people. They always have reasons and motivations. Hitler was like this.
So, I got a lot out of this episode about him. Still have questions, tho :-p

Weird how Papa Suresh is careful to keep Mohinder out of this to protect him, but then he leaves his map and personal dossiees just lying about, hahaha!

I wasn't really afraid of Sylar before (yeah, I know, kind of dumb since he's an apparently evil guy and all) but this episode really made him scary. It made him real. Talk about an excellent foil for Peter; he seems (right now) like he's the same basic idea, only gone in a different direction. They both want to be more; they've just taken it differently. Not that I think Peter IS Sylar, I know people thought that - how ridiculous. Just, they are similar, in yearnings, not motives.

This made me like Nathan even less, though. I really can't stand him. His whole shooting out of the car without being able to control it makes me think more that the powers aren't completely based out of the brain - they lead back to emotions somehow. Maybe provoked by them? At least for SOME of the heroes, like him. And Ted, the nuclear guy. His power was definitely controlled by his emotions.

Niki/Jessica became even more confusing. I mean, I think I have the general idea, but considering we don't know the WHOLE story (like how Jessica is somehow Niki's alternate personality), I guess my confusion is at least justified. I dunno, though. Nameless, you said you don't understand why Micah'd take apart his laptop. Well, maybe he would just get a lot more out of it that way. Or maybe Micah could tell something was wrong with it or could be made better. I mean, he's obviously a technological genius, and it's a standard manufactured computer; there's always something wrong. Niki's father was just sick; him getting angry was a catalyst for things going downhill. He was once abusive, and when he got angry at Micah, Jessica couldn't stand it, and Niki was more confused because it seemeed so unfamiliar to her - she really didn't remember it.

God, the whole last part confuses even me to rethink. This episode was really good, with the backstories and all...but I just want to see the aftermath of what happened next week. So I can't wait for Monday.

this might be off topic....but I don't understand how everyone had their powers begin to show up in the first place....they mentioned the tattoo in an earlier episode but i saw no reference to that, and it seemed they all got their powers when they were upset. Not sure if someone answered this somewhere else but I was wondering about it

Hiro really deserved to be happy with Charlie. It's too bad she had a blood clot because I was starting to like her and her cool ability (I'd love to have that ability sometimes). I wanted her to go to Japan with Hiro and then he could be all like "愛しています" (I think that's correct; I've never had a formal Japanese class in my life, so it could be incorrect grammatically) because I don't think he actually said it to her! The 1000 cranes were a nice touch, too.

WHO is going to die next week? Well, to keep people watching, it probably won't be one of the main players (Hiro, Claire, etc.). I'm thinking it'll be the atomic guy. He's not as important as the main players, though his ability is pretty neat too (and incredibly dangerous).

I'm a Lost fan, so I'm used to seeing cliffhanger previews like the one at the end of this ep, though. Sometimes, they haven't been 100% accurate in depicting what is going to happen, probably to throw attentive fans off.

i saw the episode 11 preview
it shows Eden and Sylar

Eden was bent over the hole in the glass detention cell of sylar
and was holding a gun pointed at at her own head.

looks like sylar somehow got her power of suggestion and
made her point the gun to her own head.

When Niki's dad was shouting at Micah and Niki and DL ran in, I was expecting Jessica to appear immediately. Maybe she did but saved her response for later.

Sylar started out as a sympathetic character for me, but when he was too desperate to be "special" and started talking about "evolutionary imperative", I stopped liking him so much. Later I felt even less sympathetic when he started to kill, obviously. But a great villain - I'm curious to know a little more about how looking at someone's brain gives him powers. (I just don't want to SEE any more brains or surgeries, thanks!)

Great episode overall.

What if the cheerleader that was supposed to be saved was the one that actually died? I dont have much evidence to prove one way or the other but one thing I've learned is to expect the unexpected. the altercation at the highschool played out accordingly based on Isaac's predictions, down to the last scene with Pete on the ground in obvious need for help. if some sort of change in the future happened based on what Pete learned form Isaac it wasn't apparent. Everything happened as the paintings depicted. maybe, just maybe the "right" cheerleader did die.
