D.L Hawkins has the ability to phase through solid objects. He first displays these powers in episode five's on-line graphic novel, which details his escape. While being questioned by police, D.L. snaps when an arrogant officier makes a crude remark about Niki. D.L. unwittingly phases out of his handcuffs and nearly chokes the man. Later, after at least one failed attempt, D.L. manages to phase out of his jail cell.[1]

By the sixth episode, he seems to have become much more adept with his powers. He easily uses them to spy on others and enter Niki's home while under heavy guard. He can even use them combatitively, though not without certain dangers to his opponent. When Hawkins passes through something, its surface will warp slightly, like a liquid in slow-motion.

No mention of hardening/increased density

D.L. Hawkins was shot by Linderman in Episode 22, "Landslide."

Good point, he was shot but no necessarily killed. I'll edit my original post, thanks for pointing this out. Smile

Well do you think it's official now that DL is deceased? Or something is up? If so, kinda of a lame way for him to leave the show.

Yeah, that was dodgy as. Matt survives but D.L doesn't? Something is not right there. I thought he was a good character, so it's a shame that they've killed him off (like Candice imo). Looks like Peter will have to carry on his phasing legacy. Smile

I think we will find out that DL died not because of the gunshot wounds, but because of something else... The Virus maybe?

its like " hey I can phase a punch and even distant bullets from sniper rifles, but up close nah I wanna take the bullet and be a man.

Apparently that shot just REALLY caught him off guard. I find it almost believable if I don't think too much about him phasing through that punch. If they were going to have DL die, couldn't they at least have made it look like a real surprise, like maybe being shot in the back?

I wouldn't have minded DL quietly going off to live happily ever after as a firefighter and having a semi-normal family life. I guess they feel they need to waste people for the drama.
