i believe the showing of claire cutting off her toe wasnt just so west could "know" about her abilities (because i think he's known all along) but....

claire, or healers in general (kensai) can get cut in half, and have TWO of them. yes...sounds strange...but i have a feeling the show will show us about that. cutting kensai in half produces TWO kensai

writers confirmed that wont happen in behind the eclipse.

it has to be the part with the brain to grow back

Then to argue that point AF..

If you were to bisect Kensei in half lengthwise, would you get two of them then, since they'd both have a part with a brain?

Or would the damage to the brainstem cause neither to regenerate, as we'd seen in Episode 3 of last season??
