I believe the killer's watch was stopped at 11:52 P.M. when whoever (Sylar? HRG?) killed Chandra Suresh in the taxi. Coincidence? I think not.

11:53 is 7 minutes to midnight, yes... and if the watch was at 11:53 I think that's intentional. But I think the title of the episode comes from the Doomsday clock. The clock is well-known by people who lived with the possibility of imminent nuclear annihiliation. 7 minutes is a rather safe setting...
