I loved Shenmue on the Dreamcast. It has arcades in it where you can actually play old arcade games from 1986. The free-roaming environment was awesome and very unique at the time (this was before GTA ate the gaming industry alive). And Sonic toy dispensers! But this one time, I was walking home at night through this alley in the bad part of town, and this drunk guy came up to me and knocked me out. I was so traumatized because it shocked me. I couldn't play it for a week. Still love Shenmue, though.
And everyone ridicules me for loving ICO. What is so bad about ICO?! My friends have no souls! VIVA LA STICK!
Also, whoever mentioned Galaga, I love you. I would spend hours playing it on this machine at the taco place my mom used to go to all the time. I would lie and say I was hungry and wanted tacos just to go there and play it. I had an addiction.
And of course, Devil May Cry. It was the first game I ever played on my PS2, and I still love it. I've been told I'm obsessed with it, actually. But doesn't everyone buy Japanese imported Manga off eBay about videogames? Gosh, I love DMC...
Well, lets start with the most hours gamed per game.
Super Smash Bros,
Super Smash Bros Melee,
Duck Hunt (greatest NES game, so addicting!)
Need4Speed Underground 2 (gamecube)
Tony Hawk 2 (N64)
Tony Hawk 3 (Gamecube)
Tony Hawk Underground (Gamecube)
007: Goldeneye (N64)
007: Nightfire (Gamecube)
Mario Party 3
Mario Party 5
Halo 2 (one of four games on this list I never bought)
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (the second of four)
Gran Turismo 3 A-spec (the third of four)
Gran Turismo 4 (the fourth)
and last but not least...
Super Monkey Ball 2!
Although the last one racked up the most hours, I think Super Smash Bros Melee would have to be my favorite.
My TOP Five Games!!!
1. Final Fantasy VIII
2. Final Fantasy VII (this is actually better than 8 but I just love eight!)
3. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney
4. Pokemon Crystal.. actually anything pokemon up to the ruby version!
5. Trauma Center

YAYO!!
=)
I like that list, especially Phoenix Wright and Trauma Center. Both of those ftw. VIII is the most underrated FF game ever. Pokemon is still fun despite being idiocied by the anime. And no Aaron that does not make you an addict. Far from it actually, I know someone that beat it within the first four days it was out.
haha thanks erden!
I actually downloaded season one of pokemon and it does make pokemon seem really stupid; but it's HILARIOUS!
Pokemon is really good but not after the crystal version; after that the game went downhill (though Mystery Dungeon is really fun!).
And Aaron! Twilight Princess is *&$# AMAZING! It's not sad that you beat it so quickly!!! It makes you cooler than ever
1) Startropics. Dunno why.
2) Earthbound. Cuz it's funny.
3) Dragon Warrior/Quest 4. Dunno why noone had mentioned the DW/Q franchise yet. 4 was the shizzy. Although 3 was just as good.
4) FFX. Yes, ten. Seven was the first game that made me cry, but the speech in X really brought it home for me.
5) Bemani games. When I was in japan, I would drop 200 yen on these a play, and play them over and over (200 yen is approximately $1.80). We had one in our rec center. The Navy got rich off me. Since they have not been available until recently, a close replacement would be the Harmonix games (Frequency, Amplitude, Guitar Hero 1 and 2)
I really enjoyed playing SPy Hunter as a kid! I liked Ocarina of Time and am glad that it has more fans than just me!
For the PC, I have been working on Emperor for years! I dont get to play often though. I like civilization builders, but Emperor has been the best in my opinion.
I'd have to agree with SuperHiro, Shadow of the Colossus is a wonderful game. Not some game you can play mindlessly. The story line is good enough for a movie. But that's just me. Although the main character runs like a little girl and is a klutz, it's still very well done.
After beating the game I went back and tried to find all the black lizards with white tails. And just run around trying to grab onto hawks and climb everything that has vines hanging from it. Heh. Random, 'aye?
i belive Metal Gear solid 3 is the best game EVER. i mean i beat at LEAST 30 times since i got it the day it came out and i still havent gotten tired of it
The greatest game I ever played.. would have to be Golden Eye 007 from the nintendo 64. A first person shooter in which you can still in this day just gather around and play, at a quality price. ; )
