Any fans out there? I know your out there. What do you think of Season 3 so far?
I thought the first part of Season 3 was among the best television in the history of the medium, period. It's been almost as good since then. I like the show so much, I devoted episode 2 of my Light On Light Through podcast to it.
<-- This has been my avatar since I joined the board, so that right there tells you how much I adore the show!!! The two-parter with the basestar (don't why they've been calling them baseships all of a sudden, but it's bothering the frak out of me!) was kinda...off-kilter lol. But I otherwise have enjoyed this season very much. The Adama Tactic was the best battle maneuver in the history of ANY universe, and all the social and moral dilemmas and especially all the skeletons dug up last episode make for great television!
I am still amazed at how they use another universe and a different human "race" to show the weaknesses of us at the moment. I love how it makes you feel uncomfortable, that is great television. The recent episode "Unfinished Business" (not sure on the title) showed Adama as such a strong leader. That tactic you talk about JJAFARGI was an awesome move. I kept busy during the summer wondering how he would use his resources to save all those people. That free fall, and then Jump was a sign of genius. Anyone listen to the Alan Light podcast? Just wondering.

Yes, I do - great podcast - most intelligent analysis of Battlestar Galactica around - you can hear it at http://www.alanlight.com/galactica
I like the Light's podcast so much, I include a promo for it at the close of my own Light On Light Through podcast every week - but, no, I didn't name my podcast after him.

Don't get me wrong: I know this is a Heroes board, and I LOVE Heroes or I wouldn't be here. But I have been a Battlestar fan for much longer than I have been a Heroes fan, and to me nothing else compares. Initially I had doubts about
Edward James Olmos as Adama, but he has given the role new life. The dude from Bonanza who was Adama in the original does not compare. EJO is a total badass. He was even badass after the Chief mopped the floor with him.

Agree completely about EJO - the original Adama (Lorne Greene) was a stuffed shirt compared to EJO.

In David Eick's weekly video blog, back when the show was given its Peabody Award and everyone went to the ceremony, David introduced Olmos as "God." When one of the creators of a show ranks an actor in it above himself...that's badass!!!
I actually have never seen the original series, so I can't compare the new with the past. Was it any good? Alan Light keeps refering to it.
NONAMER, if you could try to get your hands on the first season. Is there a BSG forum to the caliber of superhiro.org? I'd like to discuss BSG with many more fans.

There's one I know of, although I am not yet a member myself (I spend enough time on here as it is, so I know if I join a second forum for a show I like, I'll never do anything else!) so I can't speak as to its caliber. I have the site bookmarked on my laptop, but I can only get a wireless connection at school, so I'll post it for you when I return to campus.
Thanks for going through the trouble JJAFARGI, I appreciate it. And I know what you mean, I have two shows I participate in forums with, and it's tough keeping up. I'll probably be Away for awhile because finals are starting. Again thanks for the help.
I too love BSG. But probably, unlike some, I am ancient enough that to have seen the Original series. In fact, before the Galactica 80 abomination came out, a friend and I were creative enough that we created our own scenario of how Galactica finds Earth.
As for this iteration, I like the moral dillemas and ambiguities (sort of like in "Heroes"), as long as "Humanity" wins out in the end. (However, you define that "humanity" -- because, in Star Trek, Kirk, said that Spock was the most "human" so we don't have to limit by race, creed, color, etc., etc., etc.).
So BSG has a lot of appeal, and yet, Heroes has been the first show able to draw me out to talk on a forum. That should tell you something about its quality!
