There are a LOT of storylines that need resolving. I agree that they could shortcut; it might not be as compelling, but at least we wouldn't be left wondering.
Ok, w/o starting a new thread -- Did everyone watch the season finale?
Did we really meet 4 of the last 5 Cylons?
Is the 5th Cylon the one that "Xena" (what's her name on the show -- I can't remember right now) saw on that kelp planet? OR was the Cylon she saw one of these 4?
Was it cool how they used the song "All along the watchtower" ? (one of my all time favorites!!!)
Did we see an angel at the end of the show?
When Kara came back at the end of the episode, did she come back in an old BSG Viper AND did she also bring reinforcements with her? HELL !!! WTF?
Also, talk about waiting!!! You thinking waiting 7 weeks for "Heroes" was bad? How about waiting until next January for BSG!!! What is up with that?

I am beside myself as well- not only at how great the finale was, but the fact that we have to wait until 2008 for new episodes. That's out of control.
Yes, they really are four of the final five cylons, as per several interviews with Ron Moore. When I was watching it I was in absolute denial thinking, no, no way, it can't be them. But, he has confirmed it. However, he has said that these four are fundamentally different cylons and the question to ponder is, what does it really mean to be a cylon? (I'm guessing that the cylon that #3, D'Anna said "I'm sorry" to was Tigh for the whole eye incident.)
But who knows? It could very well be the fifth and last cylon that we apparently haven't met yet?
It certainly looks like Kara was in an old Viper, but it's incredibly suspicious that the showed up the same time the cylons did. And I LOVED the use of Watchtower. No reason to get excited? Ha!
Pretty crazy Finale. I didn't think they were going to surpass the last Finale. But wow. Tigh? He is one? I see now why the other Cylon's did not know identity of the five. So they don't go easy on them. The next season looks like it's going to be pretty awsome. When it comes out... in 10 months.
WOW!!! What a finale, right? I think you're right, Seattlefan, that Tigh was the one 'Xena' apologized to.
I think these final five Cylons are different in the fact that they've been around for so long. I mean, the Cheif talked about growing up around his father the priest and what-not -- was he actually born to a human mother? The same question goes for Tigh -- I mean, he was a kid, grew up, served forty "frackin'" years in the service. Did the Cylons maybe abduct their mothers and implant them in their wombs?
As for Miss Kara Thrace and her suspicious return -- I'm convinced that she is, in fact, the fifth of the "Final Five" Cylons. I mean, we saw her ship explode -- she didn't have time to "punch out" (ejector-seat style, a la Apollo) either. The Cylons probably had the ship she was flying when she surprised us all, what with being alive and all. So this brings up a whole new level of confusion as far as Human/Cylon relations go.
Also, let's not forget that we have another half-Cylon/half-Human child -- the Chief's son. So, add him to Hera's presence, and you have the Adam and Eve for a whole new hybrid race.
Baltar's free!!!! That guy's now got his own little harem of devoted female followers. The role he's taken on is a total reverse of the Baltar from the original BSG. More like a grassroots hero/priest than the reviled traitor he's be painted as thus far.
On a side note, Did Apollo not kick a** with his empassioned soliloquy on the stand at Baltar's trial? I mean, he basically won the case with that speech!!
2008??????? What the hell???? I don't know if I can wait to find out what happens . . . If Starbuck already knows where Earth is, does that mean that the 2008 season will be the final season of "The Best Show on TV"?
So how do you explain the fact that we watched Starbuck's ship explode into a million little pieces? I'm tellin' ya: If Kara Thrace is not a Cylon, they're gonna have to do some serious writing to explain how the hell she's still alive.
I thought that the "old school" vipers were referred to as Mark II's and that was the standard viper (along with a FEW Mark VI's) aboard Galactica before meeting up with Pegasus.
That is true, Blob. If I remember correctly, the newer Vipers had their operations compromised by some Cylon scheme . . . The older ones that were aboard Galactica were immune, and hence turned the tide of the battle in which they were first involved.
Hmph. Much as I hate to see BSG go, they really did set up the end by having Kara say in her "miraculous" reappearance that she'd found Earth. I mean, once they find earth, what else is there? That is the end of the line as far as their intrepid quest is concerned.
Did ya' hear that they're gonna put out a short BSG comic series to keep us happy during this ridiculously long hiatus? Maybe it'll help to wrap up some of the many loose ends that they left dangling, because I really think it would take more than one more season to do so otherwise . . .
They find Earth, and Earth is at what level of technology? Us? Now?
OR is it all a Cylon deception?
Come on? You can't tell me they don't at least have two seasons more of storytelling? And Straczynski did screw-up Season 5, because he crammed the liberation of Earth plotline into Season 4 when he thought there would not be a Season 5.
Maybe these guys got tired, and maybe Season 2 (3?) -- what the heck did we just watch? -- was an indication, based on some of the sloppy writing we saw....
