Ah, but if you remember, Hiro traveled to New York by thinking about the place, and was able to make a heck of a lot of paper cranes without Charlie noticing he had been anywhere...

And how can you know for sure that he wasn't physically there?

PK and Jorm, If that is the case, then why didn't the writers just have her speak to Matt? They made a point of showing Angela project her thoughts.

PK - I"m in complete agreement with you. It does not necessarily mean that he acquired that ability from Mama P. or Deveaux, although I'm leaning strongly to that possibility. Glad to see you reviewed the scene and noticed that Peter grabbed the piece of paper and physically brought it back even though he was only in the future 'mentally'. It is hard to catch if you're only watching that episode for the first time. (Especially with all of the going back and forth, memories, detailed conversations, etc...) I don't think the writers made a mistake with that. Adam Monroe confirms this IMO because he acknowledges the ability after stating Peter went nowhere, but upon seing the document he says, "Impressive". ( I believe the writers have put too much thought into the details, metaphors, and symboism to do that.) I believe it was deliberate and that we will see it again in season 3 at some point. What I find most disturbing (Exciting Actually) is that if Peter can mentally project himself to a location, and physically bring objects back with him, then that is a VERY POWERFUL tool. I'm sure the writers will have to counteract that ability in some way.

The only other possible explanation for what Peter did was by somehow creating a 'double' of himself, arriving to the future "invisible", and then taking the paper back with him. -Most unlikely actually. (We know he did not leave because of Adam as the witness to his remaining in the same location. We also know that he was not seen by the police, or anyone else while he was there.) This is what leads me to believe it was a power derived from Deveaux (at least in part). We have a previous example of this 'power' when he "went back in time". Deveaux was the only one that saw him or knew he was present. This was in the episode where he saw the conversation his mother and Deveaux were having about him. The only difference between these demonstrations of his power is one thing: The first time this power was displayed, he did not physically bring anything back with him from that moment. The second time the power was displayed, he did.

Interesting stuff for sure! ! ! Any additional comments???

but we allready know that e didnt just time travel as when he came back adam says to him something like this "peter, peter......who is caitlin?" and he says he was just in the future and adam says "but you never left, u were just standing here and all of a sudden you started shouting CAITLIN." peter shows him the pice of paper, adam says impressive but shrugs it off as he couldnt explain it himself

i think that he can send a mental/physical/ghostly version of himself to the future which has a connection to his mind and physical being......like he is there but not REALLY there......i.e he cant effect things like if he was just normally time traveling

this has to be a seperate power as when he was in the future catlin AND peter looks in his direction when they are being dragged.......and they didnt see him...take what u will from that lol

but i agree if this IS the case i agree with jock07 this is a VERY powerfull ability to have to "project" almost a physical ghost of youself into the future where only very few can see you........perhaps he attained this ability from charles devoux as when peter traveled back in i think it was landslide it was only him that could see him, but u know what the writers are like, they like to misdirect us lol

Lol, I know. I was just wondering if you had an explanation for that scene and what makes the scene with HRG and Matt different from the one with Angela and Matt.

PK - Concerning the differences between the HRG / Matt scenes and Angela Pettrell / Matt scenes: I have a few thoughts:

When Matt was first going to question Angela Petrelli: She yelled at him, "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" He was completely startled. (I realize you can argue she "assumed" he was going to read her mind or was about to, but I think the timing was TOO PERFECT. She "sensed" he was probing her mind.

Secondly, you'll recall that her nose started to bleed when she was resisting him. We only see nosebleeds with those that are extremely straining their powers. Matt when trying to probe the Haitian's mind, Peter when ripping the door off its hinges using telekinesis, and Angela attempting to resist Matt. If you recall, she was ABLE TO RESIST thus causing the nosebleed, but she knows she would not have been able to for much longer.

My opinion is that she has some form of "mental ability' that has fully developed in varying capacities. Somehow, I believe this gives her some ability to "sense" mind probes, project mentally in certain ways. (But as I said before, differently than the Parkmans.)
