Ok obviously there is an endless list of possibilities, but what abilities would you like to see in heroes. I think somebody who could bring inanimate objects to life would be pretty cool lol. It would bring a whole new meaning to the Jedi term - "use your surroundings" lol

I would like to see some of the abilities listed below:
-Shape shifting
-Ability to travel as shadow
-Turn objects into stone or some other substance by touch (Alchemy)
-X-Ray vision

I'm sure that I could think a lot more that might even be more creative than what Season 3 seems to be hinging on (I can gain powers, I can take them away).

F.peter can shape shift can't he? That's how he hid his scar when he came back lol. And Tracy can turn stuff to ice lol. X-ray vision would be cool yeah and fire from the eyes would be cool like superman or cyclops.

Or maybe someone who can turn into a particular animal lol

Tracy doesn't turn things into ice. She freezes them solid. At least that is the impression that I got, although the writers seem to be unsure based on what happened with the reporter guy in the parking garage. I was thinking more like turning people to stone.

Your right though. Peter did shape shift, I guess. Not sure where he got that power. Maybe it was mind control like how Parkman and his Dad can control what you see.

Peter's scar brings about another good question. How can a guy that heals get a big scar on his face. I guess you could assume that his father took his powers away (which know after last episode) and then got the scar later regained his powers in the future in order for the "Future Peter" plot to work. Or he could regain some powers but not the healing one and get the scar at any time.

1. Ability to become an animal of your choice...eagle, dolphin, bear, would be way cool.
2. Ability to create mass confusion/hysteria in a small or large group
3. Ability to morph to very large or small size
4. Ability to see anyone naked without laughing eek

I wouldn't mind see a character (preferably a woman) who could produce different pheromones that would have different effects on people, i.e. fear, attraction, dissorientaion.

somebody who can turn into a shadowy smoke like substance would be cool. They could just surround somebody in a fight and throw attacks from every direction

Someone with genuine psychic abilities. By 'genuine', I mean being able to use ESP to get information. It's cool having all the telepaths and precogs, but I wanna see something that stands out.

how about somebody who could absorb all the light in a room, plunging it into darkness .... Then emits it in one big gamma ray burst or something

i think a cool one would be to turn pain into strength . so it would be like knox's except instead of feeding of other's fear you'd feed of your own pain. Other abilities similar to knox's would be good as well. Another cool one would be to be able morph into simple machines (e.g. knifes, blades) like the terminator of terminator 2.

One good way to boost the ratings would be to introduce a character with X-ray vision, with horny tendencies. Gosh, I don't think any guy would mind looking at Elle or Tracy in their skimpies (although Ali Larter has done it time and time again blatantly, but it doesn't harm to see more!).

But in all seriousness, I would like to see a Hulk-like similar character. But maybe it's too expensive for a casual TV series to create elaborate monster costumes or CG it? I just hate how susceptible everybody is to Peter's and Sylar's telekinesis abilities.

It's way too IMBA for a good hero power-to-power fight (not those boring mind control challenges between Matt and his dad). If there's this Hulk character who's huge and immovable even by telekinesis, that'll be cool. Sylar would be like "oh stuff, I'm supposed to be the most IMBA in this show, and this guy's not even budging".

if they introduce comic book like abilities then the show is surely doomed. Flying, vortex creation, phasing, invisibility, the dude who made is arm metallic, liquification of metals, telportation, alchemy, those sort of comic like abilities the show has to steer clear of.

Things like heightened senses, all the variations on mind abilities, accelerated healing, strength, etc. that are sort of not over the top is what gives the show a more genuine feel to it.

All of the "genuine feel" abilities you listed are already on the show...
