I think they are running out of cool powers in general.
They should stick to making the plot even better instead of all the flash.

You can never run out of cool and exciting powers, and no power (except for maybe Peter's) is over the top. The only thing I'm happy about is that they haven't resorted to physical mutation. Characters like Beast, Angel, Nightcrawler, ect. should stay in the comic books. I do appreciate a new power that I have never seen before. Even if I don't like the power it still shows ingenuity. Take Knox for instance. Even though I can't stand his character, he has one of the most unique powers. Out of all the comics I've read and movies I've seen, I've never seen fear enduced strength. On the other hand we have a giant list of good characters who have over used powers(i.e. Matt, Nathan, Peter, Claire, Adam, Daphne, Hiro, D.L., ect.).

a cool ability would be the one the kid uses in the new readybrek advert lol, ok he only used it to draw a net but the possibilities in heroes could be endless lol

I think a cool power would the power to make people kill themselves i know its a bit dark but it could be kinda cool

or

How about the power to control water i know its been done before (not in heroes) but if is was used well it could be cool aswell like if the person with that power could take all the water out of someones body

Make people kill themselves could have been done with Eden McCain, or even Matt or his Dad, and the Puppet man.

The water control would be a good one, it'd be real cool cuz they could do a lot with it. Like in Sylars case, say he's trapped against water, maybe the water guy would have the ability to dive in and speed his way through the water to another coast. or maybe be able to melt themselves into a puddle to hide in plain site, just looking like a puddle. Then of course there's the water control you spoke of that could be making pipelines burst, creating tsunamis, turning your brothers shower cold, etc. I'm a bit suprised with Fire, Ice, they kinda had wind with Jesse and the kid who sucked all the oxygen out of the room in Five Years Gone, that they haven't had a water elemental ability.

comic book and cartoon abilities are ridiculous. Keep them at least semi-plausible, as plausible as possible that is - I mean not too over the top ridiculous

Controlling water would not be over the top if used right imagine if a hero could boil or freeze the water in your body or as i said before take it out of your body doing this is a more realistic way of using that ability
