Wii has, is, and probably will remain my top choice. I've played Zelda almost nonstop on it, epic boss battle after more epic boss battle, with only breaks to bust out Wii Sports for my freinds to play. The controls are easy, the motion sensitivity is a synch to get used to, and its got more then enough titles out that I'd buy if I had the cash (oh pay day, where art thou?). I think their online works great too. They've got a shop to buy any old Nintendo game worth buying, a news channel, a weather channel, and a place to store photos.
I've lost almost all respect for Sony at this point. What with the way they handled the PS3 launch, the lack of awsome launch titles, etc. What Erden said, this is Sony's dreamcast.
Microsoft is doin pretty good for themselves to. I've played the 360 several times and its a nice piece o game. Gears of War is awsome, everyone loves Live, and Halo 3 is lookin sweet. It's got the set up and the titles to take over Sony's spot in the market. Think Sony like Sega and Microsoft like the Sony of old.
So there's my opinion has an avid gamer. As someone who likes money as well, go with the Wii. You can get a Wii, two games, and an extra controller and two nunchukes for the price of a good PS3 and a game. Then again, Sony looses money on each PS3 it sells, so, in theory, you're hurting Sony by buying a PS3. |

someone punch me in the face. i havent played zelda in a week. i've been stuck playing sports, trying to get pro in all the sports. but i know when heroes stops airing, im jumping back on zelda.
i've heard (from other people) that the ps3 is having some hardware problems. not recognizing the disc and what not. i havnent looked into it, but it looks like trouble for sony.
another tidbit: my cousin is telling me that the Halo trailer (or commercial) is coming out today at x o'clock. im not sure what time, but it will be on www.xbox.com. im gonna check it out when im watching football/heroes tonight. |

No idea when the new Halo trailer comes out....but after looking at Bungie just now
*
The commercial is 60 seconds long.
*
It will air during Monday Night Football on December 4th. Sometime around 6-ish, PST.
*
That’s the US date. Everyone else will get a chance to see it soon.
those were three out of the other the multitude of points. |

A year ago, right when 360 came out, and the other consoles were just speculating, ps3 looked the best.
Then, when sony delayed the ps3's release, and Microsoft announced Gears of War, 360 was lookin the best.
Then, when wii pwned E3, wii was lookin the best.
Shortly after that, 360 was takin the lead again (although I'm not really sure why...GOW hadn't come out yet)
Now that Wii, PS3, and Gears of War are all out, it looks to me that 360 and Wii are neck and neck.
In the future, Nintendo has Super Smash Bros Brawl, 360 has Halo 3, and Ps3 has......a disbanded Gran Turismo attempt.
The thing is, the more I hear about/play the Wii (at friend's houses) the more I want to get it.
The more I hear about PS3, the LESS I want to get it.
I'm not really hearing anything about 360, (+Wii talk and -PS3 talk are dominating over any other talk), but the more I play 360 (at friend's houses) the more I get it, although when looking at the price, Wii seems the way to go.
I'm sorry if I spelled anything wrong, or spell anything wrong in the future. |

^^^no worries on spelling bro (it looked good to me). its a forum, not english class. lol. i doubt you would get flamed by spelling mistakes on this forum.
okay. back to subject.
now that a few weeks have gone by..
PS3 has looked less appealing since launch. all the problems that i've read about are pretty major. the only game that looked good, got pretty bad reviews. metal gear might, imo, save this console. i think sony peaked at ps2. they could be on the back end of a 3 way war. the graphics and blue ray are the main selling point from sony. graphics look par with the 360 so far. im guessing 50% of the people that bought the sony at launch, dont even play it. they tried to ebay it.
Xbox hasnt been in the media, but i think they are still in the hunt. Back when Xbox came out, i never ever thought i would own one. i didnt think microsoft could hang with sony. nintendo couldnt even hang with sony back then. i played halo at my cousins, and i was hooked. i got an xbox the next day. xbox live came out and i was kinda mad i had to pay 50 bucks for the year. i bought it anyway, and was blown away. they got the online right the first time and the 50 bucks that i spent was forgotten. well worth it. i bout the 360 at launch because of 1) the graphics and 2) xbox live. for now. xbox will beat out sony because of its online play.
wii. just plain fun. the only thing that tears me away from my wii is Gears. when i get home from a long day at work, its either Zelda/Wii Sports or Gears online.
If metal gear cant save sony, i dont know what will. maybe a revived Resident Evil. Xbox should boost console sales when Halo 3 comes out. Wii and its party games should boost sales as well.
i saw 3 votes for the playstation. i would like to hear a sony owner speak on the playstation. just to keep the playing field a little more even (i know..bad grammar). |

Wii without question. Then 360. The PS3 is horrible and let me tell you why.
Direct quote from Sony Employee in Game Informer from the 2006 E3.
"We can put anything at any price and people will buy it. We don't care"
STFU Sony! Look where you are now. No one likes you. And I'm sorry, but one game will not save a system unless it's a launch game. Now...hmmmmm should I spend $600 so I can play that one, and final, MGS game, and possibly KH3, OR should I spend just a little more, get a Wii AND a 360, get some of the best exclusive games, plus, seeing as Sony has lost exclusivity from pretty much every title, get all the games PS3 has on my 360. And if you guys remember, MGS 2 and 3 were PS2 exclusive.....for about 6 months, then the better version came out on the Xbox.
Also, why would you even play PS3 online? because of Home? Look if I want to create a character and walk around and talk to people I'll play an MMO. If I want to just jump online and play some halo, or call of duty, or ghost recon, it's as simple as.....oh wait my 360 connects online as soon as I turn it on. case closed. |

Totally different genres, almost incomparable ^.^ for straight up fun which leaves you feeling great - the Wii. Also for group activity, sh*ts and giggles; the Wii.
For an amazing virtual adventure experience, which drags you into the action with spectacular graphics and breathtaking environments; either the 360 or PS3. For media and features beyond straight-up playing; the 360 or PS3.
I've put these two in the same category, because they are both powerful machines with an array of bells and whistles. Some like MS, others like Sony. As far as I can tell, the only real deciding factor would be the type of games available on each format. Ie; if you like FF, go for Sony. If you like Halo, go for MS.
Personally I don't have time for much gaming (used to, but not now), and when I do game I like a bit of light, active fun. So the Wii is my fave (and way cheaper, which is a bonus). Plus Nintendo has Zelda. Winner.
Then again, most keen gamers own a Wii plus one/both of the other two anyway, so having Wii in the vote is moot |

| Yeah, but overall libraries and comparing reviews between games on each system. (between 360 and ps3) Microsoft is clearly the winner. And playing FF games doesn't mean that you have to get a ps3. anyone ever heard of a little game called final fantasy crystal chronicles? Wii exclusive. Sony just doesn't do it like they used to. And in the end, whoever wins the format war (HD-DVD or Blu-Ray) will win the console war between the 2 systems. |

360 has:
- the fair price (now even lowered)
- the new warrenty to cover your red ring of death
- the EXTREAMLY huge library of games (including halo 3 which has had microsoft just take the cake)
- 4 different xbox packages for different gamers(core, premium, elite, halo 3 edition)
- familiar technology as far as disks go....
- THE BEST online system you can get or will find.... (even though it costs 50 a year i think you wont be missing those 50 bucks very much!)
PS3 has:
- HIGH PRICE$
- Blu-ray (pro: makes graphics a tad nicer, con: the player itself made the price go up, plus the technology isnt even near its peak yet so sony kinda made a risky jump of the gun.... (plus the disks cost a buttload))
- Crappy knock off of Wii's motion sensing technology, too much your controller is doing at once, cause if your not supposed to move your controller and you do when you are intense gaming.... you will be agrovated.
- how many world war shooters can you make?
- not a fantastic library as far as good games go... nothing you cant find on some of the cheaper consoles.... (resistance is one exception.... but the only.)
Wii has:
- Great motion sensing technology, which is great for the games that nintendo makes, but as far as games ported for multiplatform.... dont bother.
- some games are funny to play and some are just generally hard with a very sensitive wiimote. (try playing call of duty 3)
- Low price.
- Great extra features as far as downloading channels and backwards compatability goes... travels as far as 22 years back.
- EXTREME supply and demand for this object... and its almost been out for a year and you cant find them on the shelves.
- Games are only fun when the game is designed for the wii. games that are just made for a system and are ported tend to have bad controls.
- Controls on games are hit or miss, its either great like Wii sports, or horrible like Red Steel
- No DVD play-back. (unless you install your modchip along with hacking)
CONCLUSION:
as far as im concerned... the 360 is the way to go, not much to complain about when you pick up one... other than the fact it may overheat but its nothing that cant be fixed with more releases. with hit games like halo.... who doesnt want one? Huge library and lots of accessories make this system almost a must have.
a wii is a nice little toy to have around as well cause when a good game is released for it, you can find yourself playing that game for hours at a time and having a ball with friends over (plus not to mention.... playing wii while drunk is just hilarious). and while you can buy a wii and a 360 for the same price as a ps3, why bother with that 600 dollar paperweight?
there is nothing the PS3 can offer you that the other two systems cant, besides the blu-ray that will only advance in the future and sony wont be there to make their own technology better. sony destroyed themselves on the price of the system alone cause that must be the reason they are falling back in sales numbers... they are struggling to get 5 million consoles sold while the others have already sold past 11 million.
so... 360, u got extra cash- get wii... and dont spend money on sony's new paperweight. |

Just wanted to mention that you don't have to play all Wii games with the motion remote. Nintendo has regular remotes you can plug in for FPS like CoD3, which to my experience controls just as well as on the other consoles But aside from that, I agree with pretty much all you said.

I have a Wii, basically cos I'm hoping the future will bring new and better games! The potential is huge. I'm a little disappointed that with the Blu-Ray capacity of the PS3 (and Xbox?) the Wii didn't even see fit to make it able to play DVDs? I mean come ON! And the graphics probably won't be as crisp as the other two. But Zelda looks pretty cool on a big TV!
And yes, the games out on the Wii at the moment are good, but we need a LOT more... standard rehashes just won't do! I think the companies, especially the third-parties, underestimated the Wii and how many units it'd sell. Hopefully they're working on stuff now! I think with the olympic games, Smash Bros Brawl and Wii fit on the way, I won't regret choosing the Wii. |
